Shore Games NJ
Two tournaments, two regions, two days !!
High school basketball is in full swing right now and I had the privilege of covering two separate tourneys this past weekend.
We started in New Jersey at shore games, and it was well worth the trip.
The Tri-state area and Delaware Valley are brimming with talent from 2024 straight through the class of 2027. I spent most of the day at the main site (St John Vianney HS) , but bounced over to The Fort to catch a highly competitive contest between Gil Saint Bernard and Trinity Hall.
What could possibly be the biggest take away from the entire event is that the Naval Academy continues to stockpile the type of talent that will catapult them to the forefront of the Patriot league very soon. Both Julianna Almeida’24 (Saddle River) Sidney Quinn’25 (Gil St Bernard) had noteworthy performances.
Scranton Prep vs Neumann Goretti was another game that might fit the description of a marquee matchup. 2027 G Regina Baker will be essential in the resurgence of a young Goretti squad lead by Amya Scott.
Brooke Braen’25 of Saddle River Day has a motor that is guaranteed to make an indelible impression during showcase events. She was solid in a victory over a formidable TCA program. TCA also featured a few prospects flying under the radar. 2026 Sondjane Daudin (Guard) and 2025 Torii Evans (Forward)
